Abstract

The integration of Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) into teaching and learning situations is a task that has presented difficulties, which are evident, above all, in the uses that teachers make of these tools in the classroom. In this case, it is recognized that they are poorly trained in this field, considering it essential to prepare them from a model that guides the integration of different types of knowledge: disciplinary, pedagogical and technological, in confluence with contextual elements that determine a specific learning situation; knowledge that they must understand and assume in their teaching role to achieve the effective use of ICT in education: the TPACK model. The effective use of ICT in teaching and learning processes resides in the character of a strict didactic sense that must be given to the selected digital tools, in the pedagogical approach assumed in didactic planning and in the attitude of both the teacher and the students when interacting with them, based on taking advantage of their potential to improve the quality of learning in this new era.
