Accompaniment in training processes for Young leaders of indigenous people in the Central-North Pacifc of Nicaragua
Abstract
The experience of the academic accompaniment work developed by the University of the Autonomous Regions of the Nicaraguan Caribbean Coast, together with other bodies in the training of young leaders of the indigenous peoples of the Central-North Pacifc of Nicaragua who represent the Chorotegas, the Matagalpas , the Sutiabas and the Nahoas indigenous peoples, consisted in the development of academic and investigative capacities and their application in the generation of development proposals for their communities. In order to collect the information, a detailed review and analysis of the existing documentation and the fnal products of the training processes was carried out, as well as a validation of the curriculum developed in the diplomat in
community economies of indigenous peoples to identify the created capacities. As a result of the training process, academic and investigative capacities were strengthened in 22 young leaders, 15 investment plans were generated for the indigenous peoples of the PCN, a diagnosis of the economic, social and environmental situation of the indigenous peoples was made and a proposal for a Human Development Plan for the PCNs was prepared to be included in the National Plan for Human Development of Nicaragua. It is considered important to develop these training and accompaniment processes as a way to empower indigenous peoples in the defense and claim of their rights, it is recommended to take back this experience to consolidate community development processes.
