Ontology of dietary recommendation addressed to people with overweight and obesity, an alternative tool in times of COVID

Abstract

Obesity is a preventable chronic disease of multifactorial origin, characterized by excessive accumulation of fat, usually from adipose tissue in the body. This document is an ontology that models knowledge in the domain of obesity, nutrition and food in order to make a diet recommendation system, an alternative tool for self-management of health in times of COVID. It was built using Protégé with OWL 2-D, L format, the methodology was adapted to the SCRUM framework. This proposal gives suggestions for diets in general, it is not personalized for each type of patient, according to tastes or dietary restrictions such as illnesses, allergies, age.
