Abstract

The investigation was carried out in the school "Isabel Amador", central Dipina community of the City of Waslala, North Caribbean Coast Autonomous Region (RACCN). The problem that affects the application of general rules of accentuation in eighth grade of distance education has been diagnosed; the design of an action plan that facilitates learning, the application of the general rules of emphasis and implementation of innovative methodological strategies. The population was 40 students plus 2 researchers and the sample, 20 teachers. The instruments used were interviews and documentary review of the different strategies implemented: analysis and word soup, pie and study circles. It verified the negative factors that affect the learners: lack of interest and literacy habits, therefore absence of the practice of the general rules of accentuation. The student population, present difficulties in all the items that were evaluated and are related to difficulties in the conceptualization of acute words, severe, esdrújulas and sobreesdrújulas with a disapproved percentage of 90% at the beginning (diagnosis) and a decrease up to 15% at the end of the investigation. In teachers the absence of the use of innovative strategies was checked.
