Abstract

The gap that has existed between men and women has been and remains a reality in which the Nicaraguan society lives. This research is a result of the postgraduate in Local Development in Central America; the objective is to interpret the perceptions of women producers related to their active integration into productive development organizations. For the field stage we used an ethnographic method, specifically based on interviews and direct observations. The research findings focus on the historical and cultural context in which the process of women organization was made, from where these women have faced difficulties that they have transformed into strength, based upon a profound analysis of their situation, where they decided to undertake the path of organization. As for the productive development, women recognize the progress they have made, the difficulties to achieve it, but furthermore, they recognize their contributions as producers to the development of their families and community.
